Curriculum

At the Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy of Chapel Hill we train to be strong, centered, confident. The curriculum provides students with an education in two powerful Korean martial arts: Taekwondo, the "attacking" art and Hapkido, the art of self-defense.
Academy students excel as martial artists because they have defined goals giving them a clear path toward achieving excellence at each level. For each belt rank students follow a curriculum that includes mastery of specific kicks, punches, sparring techniques, self-defenses, forms, breaking, and for advanced students, weapons (bo staff, nunchakus, and sword). In addition to the physical training, the core martial arts values, discipline, respect, and honor are a part of every class. Working appreciation for these important, character building values is integral to the academy curriculum.

Expert, personal instruction for meeting training goals ensures that when students test they do so with confidence in their skills and the knowledge that they are ready for the next level. This preparedness makes belt tests at the academy an empowering experience. At the test's conclusion, students are rewarded for their achievements with new belts and Certificates of Rank.
Please contact Master Rebollar if you would like to watch a class or a belt test.
