2012 Martial Arts Summer Camp

Weekly Sessions June 11 - August 24

This summer the Academy will host camp in our brand new dojang, which features 3000sf of open mat for play!  When the kids are not in martial arts class or on swimming and bowling field trips they can play hard out of the heat - no sunblock required!  They will play indoor soccer, run obstacle courses, do tumbling, relay races, and more. The fun moves outdoors for everyone's favorite activity - water balloon battles!

Summer program martial arts training includes daily hapkido and taekwondo for all levels of experience.  Beginners will jump-start their training and advanced students will find the challenge they seek to grow their skills.  In addition to hapkido and taekwondo the kids will learn to use a sword and nunchakus (foam, of course!).

As in all Academy programs the core values, discipline, respect, and honor are part of everything we teach.   Our black belt instructors are experienced teachers who bring deep respect for the martial arts and our core values to the program. They reinforce these values by example, providing positive role models for the children.

After a summer break spent at the Academy, kids return to school with happy memories of training and playing  games with friends...and more.  Amidst all the fun, Academy camp kids receive an education:  Martial arts training teaches focus while building strength, endurance, and confidence.  The kids begin the academic year with sharpened skills and new techniques from a summer spent immersed in the martial arts.  Give your child a summer vacation to remember at Taekwondo & Hapkido - Chapel Hill!

"The Academy taekwondo summer camp was a great experience. From a parent's point of view, I liked the balance of a structured program that was still fun. Each day offered a variety of activities that kept the kids excited and active. A couple of favorite activities included the opportunity to learn nunchucks, swords and swimming. After spending last summer here Nicholas is excited to return. When I asked what he liked most about summer camp, the answer was "everything"!  Noelle Chambers
